Introduction. Beginning in 2010, the mental health service of Moscow is being reformed. The reform is carried out based on the principles of socially-oriented psychiatry and consists in expanding outpatient types of care, increasing the availability of mental health care for the population and reducing the number of hospital beds. Materials and methods. The article reports on the results of a sociological survey of managers of outpatient and inpatient psychiatric institutions, psychiatrists and relatives of users of psychiatric care (N = 900). Results. Respondents believe that in the course of the reforms, the quality of work of the psycho-neurological dispensaries, the amount of assistance provided by the psycho-neurological dispensaries, the provision of outpatient facilities with squares and the number of places in day hospitals have increased, treatment time in day hospitals has been optimized. Conclusion. Thus, it is the overall positive assessment of the transformations undertaken by managers and doctors, as well as users of the mental health service.
