Tuberculosis is a traumatic factor affecting the mental activity of a person. Purpose of the study: to assess the characteristics of the clinical and psychological state of patients with tuberculosis and to identify patterns of psycho-emotional status, cognitive functions. Materials and methods. Questioning and testing of 24 patients with pulmonary tuberculosis aged 29-66 years to identify criteria for dependence on psychoactive substances, assessment of basic cognitive functions. Results. Most patients have a high tolerance to alcohol. Men are characterized by impulsiveness, poor social adaptation, aggression in behavior, unpredictability of actions and lack of conformity. Women revealed cyclicality in the manifestation of mood, conflict with aggression, obstinacy, grudge and incredulity, exactingness for the environment, the desire to relieve stress through alcoholization. Summary. The decrease in cognitive processes is associated with the influence of social factors, the presence of dependence on alcohol and drugs, and depends on age. Patients need to take therapeutic measures aimed at improving cognitive functions and involve them in rehabilitation psychological and correctional programs
