The prevalence of myocardial infarction is associated with various disorders of lipid metabolism, information about which is contradictory. The aim of the study – study of features of lipid metabolism disorders in elderly patients with myocardial infarction. Material and methods: The study included 118 patients with myocardial infarction aged 60-74 years, who studied the indicators of lipid metabolism with the konelab 300 autoanalyzer. 40 patients of the same age without a history of myocardial infarction and at the time of examination served as controls. Results of the study: Significant violations of the lipid transport system indicators were found in elderly patients with myocardial infarction and chronic heart failure. The most common in this pathology is an increase in total cholesterol (83.9%), low-density lipoproteins (85.6%) and a high coefficient of atherogenicity (81.4%). The development of chronic heart failure in patients with myocardial infarction worsens the violation of lipid metabolism. Conclusion: The results obtained indicate that there are pronounced violations of lipid metabolism in elderly patients with myocardial infarction and the need to use statins to correct them.
