Age-related macular degeneration is an important problem in gerontology, as it affects mainly the elderly. Age is not only the main risk factor, but also determines the degree of visual impairment of this pathology. The aim of the study - analyze the features of the polymorbid and ophthalmological status of patients with age-related macular degeneration in middle and old age. Material and methods: In 94 middle-aged and 92 elderly patients with 2-3 stages of age-related macular degeneration, the features of the polymorbid background were studied using a retrospective method based on the analysis of medical documentation. Indicators of lipid and carbohydrate metabolism were determined using autoanalysts "KoneLab 300 "and" EXPRESS PLUS", respectively. Visual acuity was studied using the Rota device, visual fields were studied using the Peritest – 300 devices, and regional hemodynamics was studied using the VOLUSON 730 Pro device.
