Summary:
Polymorbid pathology characterizes and is an important feature of elderly patients. At the same time, the polymorbid continuum of patients 60-74 years old with glaucoma and cataracts has not been studied enough. The purpose of the study is: study of the polymorbid continuum of elderly patients with glaucoma and cataracts. Material and methods: In 2016-2019. 220 patients 60-74 years old with comorbid ophthalmology - glaucoma and cataract and 200 elderly patients without glaucoma and cataract were examined on the basis of the Tambov branch of the MNTK "Eye Microsurgery named after Academician S. N. Fedorov." The prevalence of somatic pathology in these groups was studied according to survey data and medical documentation. Interleukins in the blood were determined by flow cytometry. Study results: The peculiarities of polymorbid status of patients with comorbid ophthalmology in old age and without it were established with a reliable difference in the frequency of most diseases. Most often, the polymorbid continuum at 60-74 years old with ophthalmology is aggravated by atherosclerosis of the brachiocephalic arteries, coronary heart disease and arterial hypertension. At 60-74 years, the prevalence of glaucoma and cataract in both men and women is highest. Immunological disorders in patients with comorbid ophthalmopalogy are characterized by hyperexpression of proinflammatory interleukins. Conclusion: The features of the polymorbid continuum of elderly patients with comorbid ophthalmopathology should be taken into account by gerontologists.
