Background. The purpose of health education is to positively influence the health and well-being of the population, to promote environmental conditions conducive to health choices, and to educate people who are aware of and able to perform the most beneficial actions in their personal situation. In order to study the problem of prevention of oral hygiene in children, we conducted a survey of parents of 1401 children aged 6 to 17 years. Purpose: to study the problem of responsibility for the prevention of oral hygiene in children aged 6 to 17 years. Materials and methods. Quantitative research. The base of the study was the secondary school. Results. The sample covered by this study consists of 1,401 parents of children aged 6 to 17 years. Conclusions. An analysis of the problem of prevention of oral hygiene in children led to the conclusion that modern parents take responsibility for oral hygiene of a child closer to adolescence, which is an obstacle to prophylaxis and a factor in the increase in the incidence of caries in children.
