ORGANIZATIONAL ASPECTS OF THE DEVELOPMENT OF PREVENTIVE WORK WITH PATIENTS: EXPERIENCE OF THE REGIONAL OPHTHALMOLOGICAL CENTER

Summary:
Introduction: The formation of a commitment to a healthy lifestyle of the Russian population and the improvement of preventive work with patients are the basis of the national healthcare system of the Russian Federation. Approaches to the development of preventive medicine measures are universal, regardless of the profile of medical care, the level of the medical organization and the specialty of the doctor, the contingent, however, it is of particular interest to organize preventive work with patients in a mono-profile ophthalmological clinic of the republican level when providing medical care to an adult population, mostly older than working age. The aim of the study was to analyze of the activities of the regional ophthalmological center, which provides primary specialized health care and specialized (including high-tech medical care), for the prevention of diseases of the eye, its adnexa and orbit, and chronic non-communicable diseases. Materials and methods: The analysis of the hierarchy of normative legal acts regulating the preventive activities of medical organizations was carried out, the world experience of preventive medicine was studied, the indicators of the medical prevention service of the ophthalmic clinic were assessed from the forms of departmental statistical observation, the data of the medical information system of the clinic for the period 2018-2022, questioning patients about their attitude to their own health and a healthy lifestyle. Results and discussion: It was found that 39.9% of respondents pay attention to their health only in case of illness, among the causes of diseases 65.6% noted irrational nutrition, 52% - constant stress, 50.2% - sedentary lifestyle. Actual forms of preventive work of the ophthalmological clinic are the patient's schools for the formation of adherence to a healthy lifestyle and the prevention of diseases of the eye, its appendage and orbit, information through the distribution of printed materials, speeches in the media on the preservation and promotion of health. The number of people annually trained in the basics of a healthy lifestyle ranges from 9 to 11 thousand people. Conclusions: The experience of the regional ophthalmological center given in the article, aimed at developing a healthy lifestyle, giving up bad habits, monitoring the state of one’s health, can be used by other subjects of the Russian Federation when developing a set of preventive measures. In turn, the ophthalmological clinic continues to develop and introduce new forms of preventive work with the population.
