Summary:
Introduction. An urgent task of healthcare is to develop an integrated approach to preserving and strengthening the health of young people, combining the achievements of medicine and digital technologies. The implementation of this task can be facilitated by the study of the possibilities of information and communication technologies for monitoring the state of health and lifestyle. The purpose of the study is to study the prevalence of the use of information and communication technologies for monitoring health and lifestyle and the opinions of students of the medical faculty about these technologies. Methods. An observational cross-sectional study was conducted on 506 students of the medical faculty of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University. HM. Berbekova, 366 women (72.3%) and 140 men (27.7%) aged 16-29 (mean age 18.2±1.7 years). The selection of units of observation among the first-year students was carried out by the nesting method while maintaining the proportion characteristic of the general population. The required volume of the sample statistical population, calculated according to the formula Merkov A.M., Polyakov L.E., (1974), amounted to 336 units of observation. The sample set both quantitatively and qualitatively reflected the properties of the general population. The study included an anonymous survey on a specially designed questionnaire containing questions about the frequency of use of information and communication technologies for monitoring the health and lifestyle of medical students and their opinion about these technologies, using the Google Forms online constructor. Results and discussion. First-year students of the Faculty of Medicine use modern information and communication technologies to maintain their health with high awareness (70%) and motivation (53.6%) not often enough (29.5%). Among all forms of information and communication technologies, students prefer special applications for mobile phones (51.4%) and instant messengers (38%). The average student score of application functions was 3.25±1.42 - 3.69±1.38 points. The students we interviewed do not have apps that cater to all their needs. Conclusion. The prevalence of the use of information and communication technologies for monitoring the state of health and lifestyle by students of the Faculty of Medicine and their opinion about these technologies have been studied. The results obtained by us can be used in the development of domestic special applications for mobile phones (smartphones), taking into account the needs of students for health protection.
