Summary:
Purpose: to analyze the dynamics of cerebrovascular diseases (CVD) in the Stavropol Territory (ST), Russia (RF) and other regions of the North Caucasian Federal District (OtherNCFD) in the context of the implementation of measures to reduce mortality from cardiovascular diseases. Methods. A comparative analysis of the dynamics of common and standardized for four age groups (0–14, 15–17 years, adults of working age and older than working age) indicators of general and primary incidence of CVD was carried out. The WHO World Population Standard was used. Results. The percentage of CVD in the structure of circulatory system diseases (CSD) in the SC differs slightly from that in the Russian Federation (25.2%±1.1 and 23.3%±0.2; p>0.1); in the OtherNCFD, the percentage of CVD is lower (18.7%±0.7; pD. Its median over 10 years is: in the ST 4820.3 [4532.0–4929.6]; the averaged value over 10 years for the RF is 3047.0±191.9, the OtherNCFD is 1749.6±47.0. Conclusion. The increase in the primary incidence rate of CVD is mainly due to the aging of the population. The frequency of age-standardized hemorrhagic strokes and cerebral infarctions is decreasing. The reduction in the incidence of strokes not specified as infarction or hemorrhage is associated with improved diagnostic capabilities. In recent years, the SC has seen an increase in the primary incidence of stenosis of the precerebral and cerebral arteries that do not lead to cerebral infarction, which makes it possible to prevent the development of cerebral infarction. The increase in the ratio of cerebral infarctions to hemorrhages reflects the success of arterial hypertension correction. The increase in the overall incidence of CVD is probably a consequence of the saved lives of patients.
Keywords cerebrovascular diseases, incidence of cerebrovascular diseases, acute disorders of cerebral circulation, epidemiology of strokes, epidemiology of cerebral infarction
