Summary:
Abstract. Hospitalized morbidity is important both for characterizing the health status of the population and for analyzing the activity of the system, together with the level of general morbidity and mortality of the population and healthcare in general. It is known that hospitalized morbidity characterizes not only the population’s need for medical care provided in an inpatient setting, but also the efficiency of medical institutions providing medical care in an outpatient setting. The purpose of the stud: conduct an analysis of hospitalized morbidity among the adult population of the Sverdlovsk region in 2017-2021. Material and Methods. Statistical materials from the annual collection “Health of the population of the Sverdlovsk region and the activities of medical organizations” were used. To evaluate the data, “Forms No. 14 and No. 30” for 2017–2021 were used. Results. According to the 2021 annual report (FFSN No. 14), only 80,559 patients were admitted to state and municipal medical organizations for inpatient treatment in the Sverdlovsk region. In 2017, a total of 856,871 patients were treated (discharged + died) in 24-hour hospital beds. The total bed capacity of inpatient institutions in the Sverdlovsk region is 31,145 beds (including beds in federally subordinate institutions), which is 1.35% less than in 2017. Conclusion. Hospitalized morbidity over 5 years (2017 - 2021) decreased by 5.99%, which is due to various reasons, including: more active use of outpatient complementary technologies in the treatment of major diseases, a reduction in bed capacity, restrictions that developed due to for the COVID-19 pandemic.
