Summary:
Introduction. Physiological aging is an inevitable period of life. Despite the improvement in the quality of life in a number of countries, as well as the achievements of science and medicine in the field of geriatrics, its long-term progress is still not significantly progressing, including in the Russian Federation. Of particular importance are still the incidence rates of people with malignant neoplasms, the tasks and prospects of organizing anti-cancer control, including the urinary system. Purpose of the study. To develop new approaches to the study of biochemical atypism in prostate diseases in geriatric aspects using individual micronutrients as an example. Materials and methods. Studied were 30 patients with prostate cancer of 1-3 degrees of middle and advanced age and 10 with benign prostatic hyperplasia. The samples were analyzed under microscopes: "FE1 Quanta 200 3D" and "FE1 Quanta 600 FEG". Elemental evaluation of sodium, magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, calcium, sulfur, chlorine was performed with the support of a detector for recording the spectra of characteristic X-ray radiation EPAX. The processing of statistical data was carried out with the calculation of intensive and extensive indicators of average values. Results. The content of sodium and magnesium decreased as the tumor progressed, while by an order of magnitude exceeding its amount in the fibromuscular stroma. The amount of phosphorus progressed with the development of the oncological process, especially in middle-aged people. Sulfur levels decreased in prostate pathology and did not depend on age. Potassium and chlorine were detected only in cancer and had no correlation with either the stage of the disease or the age of the patient. The amount of calcium in the groups without a malignant process and in the fibrous stroma significantly exceeded its content in other variants. Conclusion. Increasing the most active elements in cancer promotes active cell growth. At the same time, as the extent of tumor progression, their content decreases. With increasing age, their number decreases, which contributes to slowing down tumor growth.
Keywords prostate cancer, age, elements
