Introduction. The article is devoted to the analysis of financial support for the activities of the narcology service at the current stage in the subjects of the Volga Federal District. Purpose: to summarize data on funding sources, financing principles, the amount of compensation to medical organizations for drug treatment costs, as well as indicators and criteria for the effectiveness of drug treatment in the Volga Federal District regions. Materials and methods. Based on the data obtained, the average values of compensation for the services provided in the profile of psychiatry-narcology in the subjects of the Volga Federal District were calculated. An inter-group comparison of the average length of hospitalization, repetition, number of treated patients per 1000 population was carried out in regions with a different principle of compensation for the case of hospitalization (per bed-day and per case of hospitalization). Results. The average value of compensation for the case of visiting a narcologist in the Volga Federal District: preventive - 607.4 rubles; for the disease - 740.1 rubles. For the case of appeal, the average amount of compensation was 1384.6 rubles. When providing specialized care in a hospital: when paying for a bed-day spent: with emergency hospitalization - 2394.3 rubles, with rehabilitation - 2272.8 rubles. When paying for the completed case of hospitalization, compensation was: when providing emergency care - 38425.1 rubles; during rehabilitation - 56736.7 rubles. Conclusions. Authors recorded high variability of compensation for the service provided within one federal district. When analyzing the average length of hospitalization, repetition, the number of treated patients per 1000 population, in groups with different principles of compensation for hospitalization (per bed-day and per completed case), no statistically significant differences were found. The most common criteria for the effectiveness of care are: in the provision of outpatient care and in rehabilitation: the proportion of patients in remission; in hospital care: repeated hospitalization.
