USAGE OF TECHNOLOGICAL TRANSFER IN THE BIOPHARMACEUTICAL INDUSTRY: CONDITIONS AND RESTRICTIONS

Summary:
Introduction. Transfer of drug production is one of the ways to provide the country's population with affordable and effective drugs, but despite its importance and priority, manufacturers face various problems of both economic and legal nature when making strategic decisions on technology transfer. Aim. The article presents the results of an expert survey of specialists engaged in the technological transfer of biotechnological medicines. The results of an expert survey examines the main problems that affect the achievement of the criteria established in plan of technological transfer. Materials and methods. A survey was conducted by sending specially prepared questionnaires to experts using the Google Form tool. The questionnaire included 5 questions and assumed an assessment of the parameters of technological transfer. The survey was attended by 36 experts who are specialists in the pharmaceutical and biotechnological industries. The analysis of the survey results was carried out using statistical analysis methods using the STATISTICA data processing package Results and discussion. The results of the interviews suggest that the technology transfer procedure in the biopharmaceutical industry is based on the transfer of knowledge about the drug and its production and quality control processes to achieve the goal of commercial production. The analysis showed that there is a large unmet need for highly qualified specialists with multidisciplinary knowledge in biopharmaceutical companies. The requirements for the knowledge and skills of workers involved in the technology transfer procedure at biopharmaceutical enterprises are characterized by interdisciplinarity, high technology and knowledge intensity. Conclusion. Human resources are one of the drivers of technological development. And technological development, which refers to inventions, innovations and the dissemination of new technologies, is a necessary component of the stable economic growth of the industry.
