Summary:
Introduction. The growing complexity of decision-making in healthcare creates a need to implement decision support methods. Methods of multicriteria decision analysis (MCDA) are successfully applied in many fields of activity and have recently become widespread in healthcare. Aim. Studying the features of the MCDA methodology using full aggregation models, in particular, a simple linear additive model (SLAM), as well as the analysis of foreign MCDA models used in the field of decision making in healthcare. Materials and methods. Publications focused on the MCDA methodology and description of already developed foreign models, were searched in electronic bibliographic databases: Medline (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/), Google Academy (http://Scholar.Google.com), scientific electronic library eLIBRARY (https: //elibrary.ru). Results. This article describes a detailed methodology for conducting MCDA using SLAM: the context of the model’s application, requirements for a set of assessment criteria and measurement of the values of alternatives, scoring of alternatives, weighting of the criteria, and sensitivity analysis. The analysis of the foreign countries experience (Belgium, Israel and Italy) on the use of MCDA to support decision-making in the technology assessment was also described. Discussion and conclusion. SLAM is a methodologically convenient decision support tool in health care, which is already used in some countries, but its distribution in the world (like MCA) for health care is still not great. In Russian conditions, full aggregation models can be used to optimize the decision-making process regarding the financing of medical technologies.
