Material and methods. In the regions of the North-Western Federal District, according to the statistical form No. 131, the dynamics of oncological screening during annual medical examinations for five years was estimated. The data were statistically processed with the calculation of the indicators of the dynamic series, extensive and intensive values, and the assessment of the statistical significance of the differences according to the Student's t-test. Results. In 2017, in Russia, the planned volume of medical examinations amounted to 34.3 % of the subject female population, in the North-Western Federal District - 45.1 %, in the regions the indicator fluctuated (20.8 % in the Murmansk region, 66.3 % in St. Petersburg). Since 2019, the change in the frequency of oncological screening to an annual one has increased the number of subjects, but the planned number of women in a number of regions in 2020 has sharply decreased – in St. Petersburg to 25.7%. The actual coverage of cancer screening in Russia in 2017 was 23945.3 per 100 thousand people. The planning of medical examinations by the executive authorities is carried out without taking into account the current requirements and targets, the actual implementation of the planned volumes of medical examinations significantly lags behind the established standards, which indicates the ineffective involvement of women and the lack of readiness of medical organizations to perform them in conditions accessible to most women.
