MEDICAL AND SOCIOLOGICAL RESEARCH OF DOCTORS ON THE PROBLEMS OF PATIENT SATISFACTION WITH THE PROVISION OF MEDICAL CARE

Summary:
Introduction. Consumer satisfaction with medical services increasingly determines the direction of reform both within the medical organization itself and in the health care system as a whole. Currently, the number of sociological studies of patients on the problems of satisfaction with medical care is quite large. At the same time, in our opinion, an important role in assessing patient satisfaction belongs to doctors who are directly involved in providing medical care Purpose: to conduct a medical and sociological study of doctors on the problems of patient satisfaction with the provision of medical care to improve its organization in the hospital. Materials and methods. The research base is the state budgetary healthcare institution of the Samara region "Novokuibyshevskaya Central City Hospital" (NCGB), which serves the population of Novokuibyshevsk with a population of 100 thousand people. NCGB is a joint hospital with a polyclinic department (capacity – 1,150 visits per shift) and a 24-hour hospital (bed capacity - 435 beds). 235 doctors (100% of all individuals) were surveyed Novokuibyshev Central City Hospital according to a specially developed "Questionnaire for assessing the organization and increasing patient satisfaction with the provision of medical care in the hospital". Analytical, sociological and statistical research methods were used. Results and discussion. The average age is 47.6 years, women predominate among them (74.0%), people with a satisfactory financial situation (78.3%), with a satisfactory self-assessment of health status (53.2% with an average level of 3.5 points). More than half of the surveyed doctors (53.2%) noted awareness of the existence of a program in the medical organization to increase patient satisfaction with medical care. The level of professional training of doctors by respondents is estimated at 3.5 points (46.4% of respondents – as good, 46.0% - as satisfactory). The level of professional training of secondary medical personnel is estimated at 3.6 points (54.0% of respondents – as good, 36.6% - as satisfactory). Conclusions. Doctors are more or less dissatisfied with the organization of medical care in outpatient settings (in 42.6% of cases with an average level of satisfaction of 3.6 points), the quality of medical care (34.0%, 3.5 points). Half of the doctors (50.2%) note that to varying degrees patients are not satisfied with the provision of medical care in outpatient settings (the average level of patient satisfaction according to doctors is 3.5 points). To increase patient satisfaction, it is necessary to eliminate the shortage of staff (40.7% of responses), increase the material and technical support of the medical organization (23.1%) and improve the level of qualification of medical personnel (17.5%). Doctors are also to varying degrees dissatisfied with the organization of medical care in inpatient settings (in 26.8% of cases with an average level of satisfaction of 3.9 points), the quality of medical care (30.1%, 3.7 points). According to 18.7% of doctors, patients to varying degrees are not satisfied with the provision of medical care in inpatient settings (the average level of patient satisfaction according to doctors is 3.9 points). To increase patient satisfaction, it is necessary to improve the logistics of the organization (35.2% of responses), improve the level of qualification of medical personnel (19.2%). eliminate the shortage of personnel, including doctors, middle and junior medical personnel (15.2%).
