Summary:
Introduction. There is a continuing trend towards an increase in the incidence of urolithiasis. The tendency of the disease to relapse entails risks for patients – the need for visits to doctors, hospitalizations, surgical interventions, causes significant health care costs. For a prospective analysis of medical care and improvement of preventive measures, it is important to study the trends in the incidence of urolithiasis. The purpose of the study: to study trends in the dynamics of the incidence of urolithiasis in St. Petersburg and in the Russian Federation. Materials and methods. The general and primary incidence of diseases of the genitourinary system in St. Petersburg and the Russian Federation for 2013-2022 was analyzed according to form No. 12 "Information on the number of diseases registered in patients living in the service area of a medical organization". A statistical analysis of the data was carried out. Results. The incidence of urolithiasis in St. Petersburg is stable. In the Russian Federation– there is an increase in the indicator, which is more significant in terms of overall morbidity. Restrictions on the work of medical organizations during the COVID-19 pandemic led to a decrease in the registration of urolithiasis, the primary incidence was subject to fluctuations – in 2021, an increase of 7.4% due to complaints about primary acute conditions. The incidence of urolithiasis in people older than working age is significantly higher than in other groups of the adult population. During the COVID-19 pandemic, there was a sharp decrease in morbidity, but the overall morbidity rate returned to its original level, and the primary morbidity rate in 2022 equaled those recorded in other groups of the adult population. Discussion. The decrease in the incidence of the COVID-19 pandemic should be considered natural, but its subsequent decrease in St. Petersburg against the background of a different picture in the Russian Federation is a negative characteristic. This is due to the low availability of primary diagnosis of urolithiasis, especially for older age groups. Conclusion. It is necessary to study the organizational factors of providing medical care to patients with urolithiasis in order to find optimal ways to improve it.
Keywords urolithiasis, incidence of diseases of the genitourinary system, general and primary morbidity of urolithiasis
