The article analyzes the main indicators of the activity of day hospitals of medical organizations of various types, providing care in the ambulatory conditions in the Russian Federation for 2010-2016 (provision with places, number of patients treated, average duration of treatment). For 7 years the increase in the availability provision with places of day hospitals from 9,48 to 10,64 per 10000 population has been determined, number of patients treated has increased from 26,4 to 34,2 per 1000 population, the average duration of treatment has decreased from 11,6 to 10,6 days. In the day hospitals of the polyclinic departments of the regional, republican, provincial, county hospitals, specialized hospitals and other medical organizations, the highest growth was shown in provision with places (by 2,6 times, by 58,1% and by 69,8%, respectively), number of patients treated (by 2,4 times, 1,95 times and 1,92 times, respectively). The indicators of work of day hospitals of polyclinic departments of district hospitals and outpatient clinics have decreased: provision with places - by 7,4 times (from 0,37 to 0,05 per 10000 population), number of patients of treated – 5,0 times (from 0,95 to 0,19 per 1000 population), which may be due reorgan-ization district hospitals to the departments of the central district hospitals.
