Summary:
Introduction. Despite the provision of mainly outpatient medical care to the population, a fairly large volume of it is received in round-the-clock inpatient facilities. Activities aimed at developing hospital-replacing technologies cannot always ensure the effectiveness of ongoing treatment measures at the outpatient stage. Purpose: Conduct an analysis of a round-the-clock hospital workflow during COVID-19 and the causes of mortality in adult population registered with a medical organization. Material and research methods: The study was conducted on the basis of the regional budgetary healthcare institution «Ivanovo Clinical Hospital named after the Kuvaevs», Ivanovo. An analysis of the primary medical documentation «Statistical card of a person leaving a round-the-clock inpatient facility» (Form 066/u) and Form 14 of the Federal Statistical Observation «Information on the activities of units of a medical organization providing medical care in inpatient conditions» was carried out. To study the mortality of the population registered with a medical organization, an analysis of «Medical death certificates» was carried out (Form 106/u). Results of the study: The main performance indicators of a round-the-clock hospital were studied. The average number of days of bed occupancy per year was established, which ranged from 319 to 324 days, the average duration of stay in a bed ranged from 9.3 to 12.1 days. During the period from 2020 to 2022, 6999 patients were discharged from the hospital. The first place in the morbidity structure in 2022 was occupied by diseases of blood circulatory system (40.11%), and in 2020 and 2021 by COVID-19 (44.21% and 89.82%, respectively). The highest mortality rate was recorded in 2021 reaching 17.7%. The mortality rate of the population registered with this medical organization is lower than the regional one (13.9 and 16.2 per 1000 population, respectively). Conclusions: In the structure of hospitalized morbidity, the first place is occupied by diseases of the circulatory system. The mortality rate increased with the age of patients whose medical history was burdened with multimorbid pathology. Mortality rates from major causes are trending downward.
