Summary:
Introduction. The relevance of the article is associated with the increase in morbidity and mortality from cancer throughout the world. This is largely due to a large number of risk factors, many of which can be mitigated if they are identified in a timely manner. However, despite all the measures taken, activities to actively detect malignant neoplasms currently do not fully correspond to the diagnostic capabilities of modern medicine.
In connection with the above, the purpose of this study was to develop evidence-based measures to optimize the process of organizing the prevention and early detection of cancer by increasing the oncological alertness of doctors.
Materials and methods. A comprehensive analysis of the dynamics of morbidity and mortality of the population of the Voronezh region from malignant neoplasms was carried out. To collect primary information on the morbidity and mortality of patients with cancer, official statistical data from Rosstat, the Ministry of Health of Russia and materials from official state statistical reporting for the Voronezh region were used. An analysis of data from accounting and reporting forms No. 7 was carried out - “Information on diseases of malignant neoplasms”, f. No. 099/u – “Notification of a patient with a malignant neoplasm”, f. 025/у – “Medical card of an outpatient”, as well as f. No. 30 – “Control card of a dispensary patient”, f. 027/у – “Protocol of Neglect”. Statistical processing of materials was carried out using calculation tables for large age subgroups in Excel format.
Research results. The results obtained showed unfavorable trends in the dynamics of oncological pathology over the past 10 years, despite all the achievements of modern medicine and the introduction of new diagnostic and treatment methods. This is largely due to the imperfection of primary and secondary prevention, as well as untimely diagnosis and, as a consequence, insufficient effectiveness of treatment.
Rationale. Taking into account the current epidemiological tension, oncological alertness in the provision of primary health care is recognized as a determining position for every doctor. Taking into account the results obtained, a set of priority areas for the early detection of cancer using automated information systems and technologies was justified. The complex of proposed and implemented measures made it possible to achieve a significant increase in the detection rate of cancer pathology in the early stages and a decrease in one-year mortality and mortality in this population.
Conclusions. The proposed methodology can be used for further work of specialists in the field of healthcare organization and specialists involved in the prevention and treatment of cancer.
Keywords cancer incidence, cancer alertness, prevention and early detection of malignant neoplasms
