Summary:
Lifestyle risk factors are manageable, so monitoring them helps develop priority areas for preventive measures. The purpose of the study: is to assess and cluster the prevalence of behavioral risk factors associated with the lifestyle of rural schoolchildren Materials and methods: in the fall of 2022, a survey was conducted among students in grades 5–11 in rural schools. 596 correctly completed questionnaires were analyzed. The received data was processed using the functions of the SPSS statistical application and Excel-based applications. To compare the parameters, the Pearson chi-square method (χ2) was used (the critical significance level of which was 0.05). Results. The most common risk factors are lack of sleep (52.5%), sedentary lifestyle (45.0%), insufficient physical activity and insufficient consumption of fruits and vegetables (28.3% and 28.2%, respectively), and excess weight body/obesity, (17.5%). Cigarette smoking and alcohol consumption were low – less than 5% each. There were no risk factors in 3.5% (95% CI 2.5‒4.4), one factor in 8.1% (6.6‒9.4), two in 39.6% (37. 1‒42.1) students. Every second student has ≥ 3 risk factors. The likelihood of having two risk factors is 1.3 times higher than the chance of having three factors (χ2 = 3.93; p = 0.047; OR = 1.28 (95% CI 1.0‒1.6). 54 combinations of factors were identified risk in seven behavioral models. The most common combination is a sedentary lifestyle with lack of physical activity and lack of sleep (9.1% each), insufficient consumption of vegetables and fruits (5.4%), and excess body weight (3.7%). with alcohol consumption (χ2 = 4.79; p
