Summary:
Introduction. Palliative care as a component of the healthcare system was allocated by the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation in 2011. It is a complex of medical interventions aimed at alleviating suffering and pain, as well as improving the quality of life of terminally ill citizens. The basic principles of palliative care are to prioritize quality of life over duration. Instead of focusing on prolonging the patient's life, the focus is on reducing suffering and achieving maximum comfort and independence for the patient. The purpose of the study. To reduce the degree of depressive disorders, insomnia in palliative patients. To evaluate the effectiveness of the technique to improve sleep and emotional state. Materials and methods. Since these types of treatment of palliative patients are impractical, it has become necessary to develop alternative methods to improve the quality of life of such patients. It seems relevant to compare the level of anxiety and stress in palliative patients. The article examines the general aspects of palliative care in the Russian Federation, comparative characteristics of patients by disease groups, and also provides a study based on the department of palliative care of the Bolshetroitskaya Regional Hospital. Results. One of the key measures in the framework of palliative care for terminally ill patients is to reduce anxiety and stress levels, and as a result, improve the quality of life. As a result of the study, there was a decrease in the overall score on the depression scale in the cohort of study participants.
