Summary:
Actuality: Ocular surface disease is a broad term for dry eyes and other diseases affecting the front of the eye, such as Sjogren's syndrome (autoimmune dry eye), dysfunction of the meibomian glands (a disease affecting the sebaceous glands located inside the eyelids), dry eyes after refractive surgery, age‐related dry eyes and others. This article will provide a brief overview of the results of the study of the effects of the use of the IPH VIS peptide, which are cytoprotectors and protectors of the functions of the organ of vision, therefore, provide additional preventive benefits for general health. Purpose: to study the cytoprotective properties of the IPH VIS peptide complex. Materials and methods: we have studied the properties of the IPH VIS peptide. We used German peptides IPH VIS, which have all the approvals and permits for the world markets, such as: WADA certificate (anti-doping), MAFFA certificate (safety), ORGANIC certificate, HALAL certificate, patent protection: patent in the United States - Patent Application Publicatin (United States, No.:US2021/052534A1, date: Feb.25,2021), patent in the European Union No. 016704471, patent in the Russian Federation No. 645608, patent in the People's Republic of China No. 30507522. Results: The use of the IPH VIS peptide has a protective immune effect and enhances the production of IL-4 by 45.3%, SCC-H by 39.9%, interferon gamma by 57.5%, which confirms the immunoregulatory protective mechanism of the use of the IPH VIS peptide. After application of the IPH VIS peptide, the loss of conjunctival goblet cell density decreased by 11%, a decrease in the degree of dry eye self-awareness by 21% and a decrease in corneal barrier impairment by 17% (distinctive signs of dry eye), which confirms the clinical efficacy of the IPH VIS peptide. After applying the IPH VIS peptide, color perception improved by 38.6%. According to the Montreal Scale, the use of the IPH VIS peptide improves brain function by 38.8%, which confirms the neuroprotective properties of the IPH VIS peptide and indicates the protective effect of the studied peptide on general health. Conclusions: The IPH VIS peptide has a cytoprotective effect on the functions of the visual organ, which is important for the treatment of age-associated diseases.
