Introduction. Issues of quality of life, its duration and the diseases arising in the course of its course are closely intertwined. A detailed geriatric assessment of the patient's condition is extremely important, which should underlie an individual approach to the treatment of elderly patients. Prostate diseases, including cancer, can be detected in most men over eighty years of age. Purpose of the study. To develop a concept for the study of age-related aspects of the standard of living, taking into account the pathology of the prostate gland. Materials and methods. 110 individuals were analyzed: 26 without pathology, 24 with benign hyperplasia, 60 with prostate cancer. The questionnaire "MOS SF-36" was applied. Results. The indicators of physical and role functioning in stage III prostate cancer in all age groups turned out to be minimal. Mental health was directly dependent on both the disease and age. Conclusion. Patients with prostate disease of oncological genesis should have control over their condition not only by an oncologist, but also by a number of other specialists: a medical psychologist, gerontologist, sexologist, and, depending on age, social services.
