Summary:
Relevance. Pediatric neurosurgery is becoming increasingly recognized as a branch of neurosurgery. Pediatric neurosurgical problems often remain for life, and children with pathology of the nervous system often need constant and careful supervision throughout childhood and adolescence. The lack of pediatric research and predictive models and the uncertain extrapolation of adult data to pediatrics pose serious problems and require global efforts to overcome them. Meanwhile, the development of pediatric neurosurgical care is not given due attention. The purpose of the study. To borrow positive experience in improving neurosurgical care for children, to study the organizational measures of professional communities to optimize this service on the example of a number of countries around the world. Research materials and methods. According to the databases Scopus, Web of Science, MedLine, The Cochrane Library, EMBASE, Global Health, CyberLeninka, eLibrary.ru The article presents an overview of the activities of professional communities in the field of improving pediatric neurosurgical care, whose experience deserves close study. Results and discussion. For more than 20 years, there has been an Association of Neurosurgeons in Russia, and the Society of Pediatric Neurosurgeons of Russia was established later. Meanwhile, back in 1967, the European Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ESPN) was founded in Vienna, Austria, whose mission is to promote the health of children in Europe and around the world by encouraging the ethical transfer and exchange of scientific information and methods in the field of pediatric neurosurgery. There is also an international society for pediatric neurosurgery, the International Society for Pediatric Neurosurgery (ISPN), which deals with a range of clinical issues. In 2011, the idea of creating a Eurasian Community was born. Conclusions. Despite the complex conflicting and contradictory political processes taking place in the world, professional communities have retained the need for communication, training, and the exchange of scientific and practical achievements. Pediatric neurosurgery is one of the first disciplines to take steps in this direction. Issues of international cooperation regarding the exchange of experience in pediatric neurosurgery are actively being investigated, in particular, existing knowledge gaps are being identified and possible ways to fill them are being developed.
