Summary:
Introduction. Over the past 10 years, organizational processes in radiology have undergone significant changes. Active digitalization has made it possible to organize reference centers for remote description of radiological studies. Such centers contribute to improving the quality and productivity of the radiology services, minimizing the personnel shortage of radiologists, rational use of the resources of the radiology department, ensuring the possibility of communication between medical facilities and radiologists. The purpose of this paper was a chronometric study of the work processes of radiologists at the Moscow Reference Center for Diagnostic Radiology. Materials and methods. The study was carried out in 2024 at the Moscow Reference Center for Diagnostic Radiology (MRC). The study involved 18 radiologists with at least 1 year of work experience. During the chronometric study, individual elements of the work process of radiologists were studied. The following types of diagnostic examinations were included in the study: computed tomography, computed tomography intravenous contrast media, magnetic resonance imaging, mammography, radiography and fluorography. The results and their discussion. A total of 317 chronometric measurements were carried out. When preparing the results of CT scans, the duration of work with electronic health records averaged 1.2 ± 0.8 minutes, image interpretation - 6.5 ±2.6 minutes, preparing of the report – 7.6±3.7 minutes, when preparing the results of CT studies intravenous contrast media – 5,0±2,8; 8,9±3,6; 15,4±5,7 accordingly, when preparing the results of MRI scans – 2,5±1,5; 11,0±5,6; 15,4±5,7 accordingly, when preparing the results of mammographic examinations – 1,0±0,4; 4,1±1,9; 2,1±1,1 accordingly; when preparing the results of radiographic examinations – 1,0±0,6; 3,1±1,8; 2,7±1,4 accordingly, when preparing the results of fluorographic studies – 0,5±0,2; 0,6±0,3; 0,6±0,3 accordingly. It was found that in the work process of radiologists, most of the time is spent on preparing a study report (51%). In turn, the centralized preparation of the results of radiographic examinations led to a more balanced expenditure of time on interpreting diagnostic images and preparing a study report. Conclusion. In the context of the ongoing shortage of medical specialists, it is necessary to search for new organizational technologies aimed at optimizing the work processes of radiologists.
