Summary:
Relevance. Chronic coronary heart disease is the leading cause of death in the world, and the Russian Federation is no exception. The dynamics of mortality from this cause over the past 5 years has been unstable, with periods of recovery alternating with periods of decline. The reason for this may be the COVID-19 pandemic infection.
The purpose of the study. To study the level and dynamics of the mortality rate of patients in an emergency hospital as a result of chronic coronary heart disease by gender and age groups for the period from 2017 to 2023.
Materials and methods. The analysis of the level and dynamics of the mortality rate in chronic coronary heart disease in an emergency hospital for the period from 2017 to 2023 was carried out. In the statistical processing of the material, traditional methods of calculating intensive indicators, analysis of the dynamic range, the average error of the indicator, and assessment of the reliability of changes were used.
Results. In the emergency hospital of a large industrial center in Western Siberia, from 2017 to 2023, there was a 2.1-fold increase in mortality in chronic coronary heart disease. A statistically confirmed 2.1 fold increase in mortality among women and 2.2 fold among men proves changes in the severity of the disease in recent years. The age groups of men 60 years and older and women 70 years and older at the present stage are a risk factor for the fatal course of chronic coronary heart disease, the development of complications requiring urgent hospitalization, and the resistance of therapeutic measures.
Conclusion. With increasing age of the patient, the course of coronary heart disease worsens, respectively, the risk of complications and fatal outcome of the disease increases. The COVID-19 pandemic period made significant changes in the course of chronic coronary heart disease, which resulted in a possible increase in mortality as an outcome of a severe and complicated course of the disease.
