Summary:
Introduction. Social entrepreneurship is actively developing in the small business sector in the Russian Federation. Most social enterprises operate in the fields of education, healthcare and social services. Acquiring the status of a social enterprise in the healthcare sector allows supporting commercial organizations to solve problems of medicine and drug supply. The issue of availability of medical and pharmaceutical care in the Far Eastern Federal District, associated with the presence of hard-to-reach and remote areas, remains relevant. Currently, entrepreneurial activity in medicine and pharmacy is at risk of reducing profitability, which can lead to a reduction in medical and pharmaceutical care, especially in sparsely populated regions. Social enterprises can fill the gaps in the public sector and "help" cope with problems in the healthcare sector. Target. Assessment of the development of social entrepreneurship in medicine and pharmacy in the Far Eastern Federal District. Materials and methods. We used observation of the dynamics of the development of social enterprises registered in the territory of the Far Eastern Federal District (observation period 2023), according to the Unified Register of Small and Medium-Sized Businesses on the website of the Federal Tax Service. Results and discussion. In the Russian Federation, 823 social enterprises licensed for medical and pharmaceutical activities are registered in the healthcare sector. In the Far Eastern Federal District, 4,373 small and medium-sized businesses licensed for medical and pharmaceutical activities are registered, of which social enterprises account for 2.4% of the total number of SMEs. Social entrepreneurs in the healthcare sector are represented in almost all subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District. Wholesale and retail trade in pharmaceutical products, activities of hospital organizations, dentistry and general medical practice are registered. The leader in the absolute number of enterprises is Primorsky Krai (33 SP), followed by Amur Region and the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) (18 and 17 SP, respectively). Conclusion. In the Far Eastern Federal District, the formation of social entrepreneurship in the healthcare sector is beginning to develop, but it occurs unevenly in the subjects of the Far Eastern Federal District. The leader in social entrepreneurship is Primorsky Krai, where, among other things, tax policy has led to an increase in the number of medical and pharmaceutical organizations as social enterprises.
