Summary:
Introduction (relevance). This article examines the impact of Internet infrastructure on the digital maturity of outpatient medical organizations in the Russian Federation. Digitalization of healthcare and technological sovereignty are key national development goals aimed at improving the quality and accessibility of medical care.
The purpose of the study. analysis of the current state of Internet connections in units providing outpatient medical care and assessment of their impact on the digital maturity of primary health care.
Material and methods. The study was conducted in the Russian Federation in accordance with the official data of the federal statistical observation form No. 30 «Information about the medical organization». The study analyzed the Internet speed for medical personnel (to automate the treatment process) in departments providing medical care on an outpatient basis.
Results and discussion. During the study period, the total number of Internet connection points increased by more than two and a half times, from 19,167 in 2018 to 51,513 in 2023. The share of connection points with speeds up to 10 Mbit/s decreased, which indicates an improvement in the quality of Internet services. However, significant regional differences have been identified in the availability and quality of Internet connections.
Conclusion. The study results highlight the importance of further developing Internet infrastructure in healthcare organizations to improve the digital maturity of primary health care. Additional measures are needed to eliminate the digital divide between regions, which will help improve the quality and accessibility of medical care.
