EDICAL EVACUATIONS FOR CHRONIC NON-INFECTIOUS DISEASES AT REMOTE INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES

Summary:
Introduction. Organization of providing medical assistance to workers with chronic non-infectious diseases (CNID) at remote and hard-to-reach industrial facilities is a serious challenge. The costs of air ambulance services and risks for flight crews during emergency medical evacuations in such conditions are high.
The aim of the study is to examine medical evacuations over a 5-year period at remote industrial facilities, identify: to identify the most common CNID for which evacuations are carried out and outline priority areas for developing preventive measures to reduce the number of medical evacuations.
Materials and methods. The article presents the results of a retrospective study of the medical evacuation database of LLC «Center for Corporate Medicine» from 2019 to 2023 at ten remote industrial facilities engaged in mining and located in similar climatic and geographical conditions. The total number of evacuations was 3131, including 2170 planned and 961 emergency ones. The structure and dynamics of evacuations for all nosologies, form (emergency and planned), dependence on age, gender and time of year were assessed. To assess the significance of differences in the analyzed indicators, Pearson's χ2 test was used (p ays possible to establish the final diagnosis reliably, in such cases, the preliminary diagnosis for evacuation was taken into consideration. Also, the study analyzed only data on evacuations from ten industrial facilities. Approaches to organizing medical care and regulations in the field of labor protection at these facilities could influence the structure and dynamics of evacuations.
