Summary:
Circulatory system diseases (CSD; I00-I99) are the leading medical and demographic problem in the world and determine high levels of morbidity and mortality in the population. The World Health Organization estimates that half of all annual deaths from CVDs can be prevented by implementing strategies to prevent morbidity and mortality. Preventive strategies for the diseases being sought now include the management of risk factors, and some of the main techniques for measuring the level of these factors are questionnaires and questionnaires that must fulfil 2 key characteristics – reliability and validity.
The aim of this study is to develop a methodology to test the reliability and validity of the author's “Questionnaire for the study of social-distress determinants of circulatory system diseases” by L.I. Orekhova and V.S. Glushanko, designed for questioning patients with socio-distress risk factors of circulatory system diseases.
Materials and methods. The material of the study was the author's methodology “Questionnaire for the study of socio-distress determinants of diseases of the circulatory system”. The method of the study - questionnaire survey of 75 respondents in the state health care institution “Vitebsk Regional Clinical Hospital” (Vitebsk, Republic of Belarus). Statistical processing of the study results was performed in STASTISTICA program using correlation analysis and calculation of correlation coefficients.
Results. After enrollment of patients in all 3 observation groups, the reliability of the sought methodology is determined. As it was mentioned earlier, reliability is one of the key criteria of the method quality, which determines the accuracy of measurements and stability of the method results to the influence of random determinants. The better synchronization of the results of one and the same respondent during repeated questioning with the same questionnaire or its equivalent form (parallel questionnaire-questionnaire), the higher the reliability of the technique.
Conclusion. Thus, the use of a valid and reliable methodology of the questionnaire assumes determination of the dominant FRs for patients with BSC with their subsequent scaling (by points). This, in turn, will make it possible to assess the increase in the level of risk and to compare this increase with the clinical symptomatology of the studied diseases by applying ROC-analysis.
