Summary:
Introduction: digital transformation leads to an increase in opportunities for medical organizations, but on the other hand, it is a great challenge for them. A preliminary assessment of the organizational, technical and technological capabilities of a medical organization for the introduction of digital technologies would allow it to pursue a policy of conscious and purposeful investment in digital transformation, implementing the principles of a lean approach in management decisions.
Purpose of the study: conducting an audit of the digital maturity of a medical organization.
Materials and methods: measurable elements were used as evaluation criteria for the level of digital maturity of a medical organization in accordance with the assessment methodology [5]. The methodology includes 4 assessment areas – "Organization Culture", "Digital Environment", "Organization Processes" and "Data and Analytics". The collection of primary data was carried out in two stages. At the first stage, a survey of employees and management of the medical organization was conducted. The second stage of the study was conducted in person on the basis of a medical organization. As part of it, an audit of the clinical, support and management processes of the medical organization was carried out.
Results: the index of digital transformation of a medical organization as a result of the study amounted to 43.9%, which corresponds to the third (average) level of digital maturity.
Discussion: the results of the evaluation of the medical organization allowed us to confirm the hypothesis that the digital maturity audit identifies growth points for a medical organization within the framework of the digital transformation concept. Indeed, these "points" were identified and translated into specific recommendations for a medical organization, according to which the polyclinic developed its "roadmap" of digital transformation to make the transition to the fourth (above average) level of digital maturity.
Conclusion: the results of our study allowed us to demonstrate that the digital maturity audit provides a medical organization with specific tools for making informed organizational decisions that lead to a quantitative increase in the availability, quality and safety of medical care for the population.
Keywords digital maturity, digital transformation, digitalization of healthcare, digital transformation index.
