Introduction. Non-lethal weapons (NLW) are designed to hit a live target without causing death to a person. Despite the fact that these weapons were developed for law enforcement officers, they are now increasingly being used as assault weapons. As a result, doctors working in the civilian health care system have to provide medical care to this category of victims Objective. To give a medical and demographic characterization of the victims of NLW in the Arctic zone of the Arkhangelsk region Materials and Methods. A medico-statistical study of 248 medical records of the victims of NLW during the period from 2005-2022 in the Arctic zone of the Arkhangelsk region was performed. Depending on the condition at the time of injury, the victims were categorized into three groups. The ways of routing the injured depending on the condition, which was assessed as satisfactory, moderate, and severe, were studied. Results and their discussion. It was found that the bulk of gunshot wounds in peacetime are wounds from NLW - 81.6%. Due to the difficulties in determining the path of routing, 8.1% of patients had to be hospitalized again and underwent surgical intervention due to the occurrence of infectious complications. Problematic routing paths and variants of complications development depending on defects in the organization of medical care provision were revealed. Conclusions. The availability of a simple and reliable routing scheme for such wounds will allow timely identification of victims in need of specialized treatment, avoid overdiagnosis and repeated hospitalizations.
