Summary:
Introduction. The article describes the dynamics of birth rate and its socio-economic predictors in the federal districts of the Asian part of Russia in 2012-2022.
Aim. To investigate the natality dynamics and the impact on it of certain socio-economic indicators in the federal districts of the Asian part of Russia in 2012-2022.
Material and methods. For study of birth rate and its socio-economic predictors in the Asian part of Russia, the official statistics of the Federal State Statistics Service for 2012-2022 was used.
Results and discussion. There is a tendency towards a decrease in fertility, marriage, unemployment, and purchasing power in all the studied federal districts. In 2012-2022, the breeding rate decreased in the Ural and Far Eastern Federal Districts, in the Siberian Federal District there was a decrease in the indicator in the first half of the study period and an increase in the second. The total fertility rate is maximum in the Siberian and minimum in the Ural Federal Districts.
For all 3 federal districts, a positive correlation was found between marriage and the total fertility rate (due to the predominant orientation of registered partnerships on childbearing and unregistered couples on non-productive behavior), between the unemployment rate and the total fertility rate. For the Ural and Siberian Federal Districts, a positive correlation was shown between the total fertility rate and purchasing power, for the Far Eastern Federal District - between the divorce rate and the total fertility rate (probably due to unidirectional unrelated changes in these indicators, which will require additional research). The correlation between marital status and purchasing power is shown for all three federal districts. Thus, from our point of view, rational measures to improve the demographic situation are support for young families; these measures may be especially effective in the Ural and Siberian Federal Districts, where a statistically significant positive correlation between marriage, purchasing power and the total fertility rate has been found.
Conclusion. The analysis showed a positive correlation between marital status and the total fertility rate. The revealed pattern provides a scientific justification for the use of measures to support young families and encourage the population to marry in measures to improve the demographic situation.
Keywords birth rate, Ural Federal District, Siberian Federal District, Far Eastern Federal District.
