Summary:
Introduction. Visual impairment can affect daily functioning, social participation, cognitive and psychological state. However, the study of these conditions in elderly patients with visual deficits and overcoming critical points of aging has not been practically studied. The aim of the study to study the psychological and physical condition of elderly patients with visual deficits in overcoming critical points of aging. Materials and methods. 215 elderly patients without visual impairment, 215 elderly patients with moderate visual impairment and 118 elderly patients with severe visual impairment were examined. Appropriate questionnaires and scales were used to examine the psychological, physical and cognitive state of elderly patients. The results of the study. Elderly patients without visual impairment also had a decrease in the quality of life on the Cantrell scale (phelp improve physical independence, well-being and successful aging and overcome the critical points of aging.
