NEEDS OF PATIENTS WITH STROKE AND THE NURSES’ ROLE IN THEIR SATISFACTION

Summary:
An important direction in improving nursing care is the transition to the implementation of the concept of the nursing process. The condition for this transition should be considered identifying the problems and needs of the patient with subsequent clear planning of activities for their implementation. This article consists the analyzes of patients with stroke needs on the 1, 3, 7 day their staying in the hospital. It is established that the main problems are: paresis and paralysis, associated with them self-deficit, the need for probe feeding (feeding assistance), pain syndrome, aphasia and dysarthria. The reducing the proportion of patients with these problems in the dynamics and the improving of their psycho-emotional status is a criterion for quality care and adequate nursing care. There are the results of the timekeeping of nurses and it is showing that its structure is non-optimal. It was revealed that not all patients were satisfied with nurses’ attitude.
