Introduction. Taking into account the fact that the basic structural unit of the provider of medical services in rural areas is the paramedic-obstetric center (FAP), and the main employee is the head of the FAP, his dominant role in preventive work among the attached rural population becomes obvious. From this position, it is important that the heads of the FAP are well aware of the current state policy measures in the field of strengthening and preserving public health, as well as an assessment of existing measures and the need for additional measures. The purpose is to analyze the level of awareness and opinion of the heads of the FAP on state policy measures to promote a healthy lifestyle among the rural population. Materials and methods. Based on an online survey based on a questionnaire developed by the Central Research Institute of Health Organization and Information, on the Telegram platform among 58 heads of the FAP of the Orenburg region, the level of awareness of specialists about the implemented state measures to maintain a healthy lifestyle, the opinion of specialists on their sufficiency was established. Results. The data obtained indicate a sufficient level of awareness of the heads of the FAP about the ongoing state measures in the field of public health. However, there is a need to raise awareness among every third head of the FAP on issues related to combating smoking, alcohol consumption, overweight, increasing physical activity and promoting a healthy diet. The established results on the knowledge of the heads of the FAP on the issues of targeted treatment to medical organizations and their structural divisions to receive medical care for quitting smoking indicate a lack of awareness in this matter among 46.6% of the heads of the FAP. The analysis of respondents' responses on the introduction of additional measures to combat smoking and alcohol consumption actualizes the need to limit the availability of tobacco and alcoholic products to the population. Conclusion. The data obtained on the level of awareness and opinions of the heads of the FAP on state policy measures for the formation of a healthy lifestyle among the rural population determines the main ways of improvement in the field of preserving and strengthening public health of the rural population.
