Introduction. An urgent task of healthcare is to maintain and improve the health of student youth. The implementation of this task will be facilitated by educating students' responsibility for their health. Of particular interest are students studying medical specialties, based on the specifics of their educational and professional trajectory. It seems appropriate to study the readiness of future doctors to accept attitudes related to a healthy lifestyle. The purpose of the study was to study the attitude of students of the medical faculty of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after Kh.M. Berbekov to their health and a healthy lifestyle. An online survey of 151 students, 118 girls (78%) and 33 boys (22%) was conducted. The average age of the surveyed students was 21.2 ± 2.9 years. Material and methods. The object of the study was students of the medical faculty of the KBSU named after Kh.M. Berbekov. The study included 151 students, 118 girls (78%) and 33 boys (22%). The average age of the surveyed students was 21.2±2.9 years. The students we surveyed were studying in the programs "General Medicine", "Pediatrics", "Pharmacy" and were citizens of the Russian Federation (92.7%) and other countries (7.3%). To study the opinion of future doctors about a responsible attitude to their health, we used the questionnaire "Commitment of citizens to responsibility for their health" (Usova E.V., Popovich M.V., Manshina A.V., Drapkina, 2021), adapted to the focus group of students of the Faculty of Medicine. Results and discussion. The majority of respondents (90.7%) believe that the person is responsible for his own health, while 31.1% of respondents noted the responsibility of the state, 29.1% - the doctor. The respondents indicated proper nutrition, regular physical activity, no smoking or drinking, no excess weight, compliance with sanitary and hygienic rules, compliance with doctor's orders and recommendations, and medical examination as priority criteria for a responsible attitude to health. Most respondents noted the effectiveness of incentive measures, in particular, the introduction of a system of various bonuses, the availability of conditions for a healthy lifestyle, preventive work with the population, and timely medical examination. The influence of smoking on the classification of citizens as responsible for their health (a smaller number of smoking students support all categories of citizens responsible for their health compared to non-smokers) and on the attitude to material incentives for non-smoking citizens (a smaller number of smoking students than those who have never smoked support material incentives) was also established. Conclusion. The results of the study can be used to develop existing and create new methods and technologies for forming a responsible attitude to their health in students.
