Patient safety is a critical component for providing quality medical care, which requires not only theoretical knowledge and practical skills, but also well-coordinated teamwork. Harmonious cooperation between specialists ensures effective work, which ultimately leads to increased efficiency of the healthcare system. It is teamwork in the modern world that is one of the main factors determining the success of any organization, in particular a medical one. The aim To substantiate the problems of team building in the work collective of medical workers and develop measures to resolve them. Materials and methods The study participants were medical specialists (n=134) working in the operating departments of the Department of Eye Diseases and the Department of Surgery in State Budgetary Healthcare Institution No. The research method was a one-time target study and a questionnaire survey. The final stage was to identify and evaluate the opinions of employees on the factors of teamwork in the operating department, as well as the role of the employee who should organize the work of the operating department and communications between each of the links of medical specialists in the team. Results Problems in determining the role of the head of the operating department were identified. According to the majority of employees of both departments of State Budgetary Healthcare Institution No., the head of the operating department - the head of the department - should organize the work of the operating room, since it is he who often performs the functions of a leader (69.4%). The most necessary factors for well-coordinated and high-quality teamwork are communication skills, mutual assistance, compliance with duties by each team member, as well as taking into account the specific role of each employee in the overall activities of the team. Conclusion Based on the results of the conducted research, practical recommendations were proposed for resolving team building problems in the workforce of medical workers, and the opinions of employees on existing problems that hinder the well-coordinated work of the team were analyzed.
