Summary:
Introduction. The problem of managing patients with CHD is urgent, especially in regions with low population density. Health care organizers face an acute problem of increasing patient adherence to treatment, increasing the level of outpatient health control in the presence of chronic cardiovascular disease. The aim of the work is to demonstrate the positive influence of active doctor-patient interaction on the reduction of cardiac event rate in patients with CHD.
Materials and Methods. This study presents a five-year follow-up of somatic status and survival of patients who underwent acute coronary syndrome. The study was selected 134 patients according to inclusion and exclusion criteria. Of the 134 patients, 50 randomly selected patients were offered remote monitoring of their condition using telemedicine tools, the remaining patients did not use telemedicine tools but were given standard recommendations for prevention of CHD complications.
Results. In this study, at a follow-up of five years, it was found that the use of telemedicine technology improves patient communication, allows monitoring of somatic status, improves patient outpatient clinic visit rates, and improves long-term survival and freedom from coronary events in patients who have suffered an acute coronary syndrome.
Discussion. The use of telemedicine technologies positively affects patient involvement in the treatment process, improves adherence to treatment, visits to outpatient facilities for the correction of drug therapy and screening of risk factors for recurrent ischemic events, which ultimately improves the long-term prognosis of survival and quality of life.
Conclusion. In this regard, it is proposed to use a multifunctional portable device (MPD) for remote control and monitoring of patient's physiological data at home, providing remote monitoring and control of patient's physiological data, including: electrocardiogram, body temperature, blood pressure, heart rate and pulse oximetry, with subsequent processing, automatic storage and transfer of data to medical specialists.
Keywords acute coronary syndrome, cardiovascular continuum, long-term results of therapy of coronary heart disease
