Summary:
Introduction. Formation of a healthy lifestyle of the population is a strategic task in the field of health preservation in all countries of the world. Behavioral habits, as a rule, are formed at a young age, which indicates the need to form a healthy lifestyle in organized groups among young people. A large role in preserving the health of the population is given to compliance with the principles of a healthy lifestyle by medical workers, since each medical worker should be a model of behavior for their patients and the entire population, as well as their professional health, without the preservation of which it is impossible to perform work functions. The actualization of the problem of forming a healthy lifestyle among students of the medical college is due to the fact that their future specialty involves the implementation of general and professional competencies in the field of health preservation, and studies devoted to the study of the characteristics of their lifestyle are insufficient. The purpose of the study is to study the lifestyle characteristics of students of the medical college of the Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov and to create a medical and social portrait of a modern medical student studying in secondary vocational education programs.
Material and methods. An online survey of 108 students was conducted, 85 girls (78.7%) and 23 boys (21.3%) aged 17-22 (average age - 17.8 ± 1.4 years). An anonymous survey was conducted using a questionnaire that allows you to study the socio-demographic characteristics, components of lifestyle - physical activity, daily routine, diet and diet, the presence of bad habits.
Results and discussion. Half of the students surveyed (49.1%) considered their lifestyle to be not entirely consistent with the principles of a healthy lifestyle. Only 25% of students followed a healthy daily routine. Almost half (49.1%) of the students we surveyed slept less than 8 hours at night, and a third (32.4%) did not engage in any physical activity. The number of students who smoked was 3.7%, and 7.4% who consumed alcohol. 25.9% of students followed a healthy diet, and 28.7% followed a healthy diet. A medical and social portrait of a modern medical college student has been compiled. This is an unmarried (96.3%) young (17.8±1.4 years) woman (78.7%), living in comfortable conditions in her own home or with relatives (88.9%), studying on a fee-paying basis (65.7%), leading a not entirely healthy lifestyle (49.1%) mainly due to laziness (24.1%), high academic workload (23.2%) and lack of finances (21.3%).
Conclusion. The analysis of the characteristics of the lifestyle of medical college students showed a high prevalence of factors that negatively affect health. A medical and social portrait of a modern medical college student was compiled. The results we obtained can be used to form a healthy lifestyle in medical college students.
