Summary:
Significance. Recent breakthroughs in cancer treatment have improved survival rates and quality of life of cancer patients. However, most new cancer treatments result in serious cardiovascular side effects, which directly affects the prognosis and quality of life of treated patients. Malignant neoplasms of the lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues account for about 5% of all oncological diseases, which determines the high prevalence and mortality from this group of diseases. This determines the need to organize cardiac care that provides prevention, monitoring and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and complications in patients with malignant neoplasms of the lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues.
The purpose of the study is to analyze data on the organization of cardiac care delivery to patients with malignant neoplasms of the lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues.
Material and methods. Analysis of the most significant results of scientific research on the organization of cardiac care delivery to patients with malignant neoplasms of the lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues. Description of the main approaches to diagnostics, prevention and treatment of cardiovascular complications caused by antitumor therapy.
Results. The current literature data on cardiovascular complications associated with antitumor therapy are analyzed. The main aspects of organizing cardiological care for patients with malignant neoplasms of the lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues are described. The main stages of monitoring the cardiovascular system before, during and after antitumor therapy are presented. The advantages of the proposed approach to the prevention of cardiovascular complications are described.
Conclusion. The obtained results provide an insight into international experience in organizing cardiac care for patients with malignant neoplasms of the lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues.
Keywords oncological diseases; cardiovascular diseases; cardio-oncology; cardiotoxicity; antitumor therapy; malignant neoplasms of lymphoid and hematopoietic tissues.
