Summary:
Introduction. Among the preventive measures aimed at early detection of diseases in seafarers, periodic examinations carried out as part of medical examinations and dynamic monitoring of seafarers with identified pathology occupy a special place. Studying the dynamics of morbidity, including by individual nosological forms, allows for a more targeted and personalized approach to providing medical care to the seafaring personnel.
Purpose. The purpose of the study was to determine the dynamic changes in the morbidity rates of the naval personnel attached to the Northern Medical Clinical Center (NMCC) named after N.A. Semashko of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of the Russian Federation over a 10-year period.
Results. The results obtained indicate that during the period 2014-2013, there was a decrease in the number of newly registered diseases in both men and women, with an annual decrease rate of 2.7% in men and 1.5% in women. On average, 10.62% of diseases were detected during preventive examinations of the naval personnel. The number of diseases detected during preventive examinations for the period from 2014 to 2023 was 396±60 cases per year on average. The proportion of seafaring personnel under dispensary supervision increased by 2.3 times compared to the total number of registered cases of diseases.
Discussion. In the generalized structure of diseases, the largest share is represented by diseases of the circulatory system, followed by diseases of the endocrine system, and then diseases of the digestive system. At the same time, diseases of the musculoskeletal system account for the smallest share. Endocrine diseases, respiratory diseases, and digestive diseases are the leading causes of morbidity during the specified period.
Conclusion. The dynamics and structure of morbidity among naval personnel identified in the study require changes in preventive and rehabilitation programs for this professional group.
