Summary:
Abstract. Diseases of the genitourinary system represent a significant medical and social problem due to the increasing number of registered cases, often accompanied by serious complications in the form of reproductive dysfunction in patients, leading to disability and high mortality.
Purpose. To analyze the long-term dynamics of the incidence and prevalence of diseases of the genitourinary system (GUS) in the adult population of the Republic of Bashkortostan from 2001 to 2024.
Materials and methods. The morbidity dynamics were studied among the adult population based on data from the Federal Statistical Observation Form No. 12, compared with statistical materials on the prevalence and incidence of diseases in the adult population of the Russian Federation (RF) and the Volga Federal District (VFD) from 2001 to 2024.Morbidity rates were calculated per 100,000 adult population, with determination of growth rates, forecast for 2026, average growth rate, and mean long-term rates (M±m) by nosology.
Results. It was found that the level of incidence and prevalence of GUS diseases in the Republic of Bashkortostan was higher than in the RF and the VFD throughout the entire observation period. Despite fluctuating dynamics, from 2001 to 2024, the RB experienced an 11.1% increase in incidence. In contrast, the RF and VFD saw decreases of 1.3% and 8.1%, respectively. The prevalence increased in all territories during 2001-2024: by 27.8% in the Republic of Bashkortostan, 29.9% in the Russian Federation, and 29.4% in the Volga Federal District. According to the forecast, the expected incidence rate of GUS diseases in the Republic of Bashkortostan in 2026 will be 6714.26±666.9 per 100,000 adult population, and the prevalence rate will be 16747.4±1225.1 per 100,000 adult population.
Discussion. The increase in the incidence and prevalence of genitourinary system diseases among the adult population of Republic of Bashkortostan from 2001 to 2024, along with the projected rise in 2026, underscores the significance of this issue.
Conclusions. The obtained results justify the prioritization of healthcare planning and the development of organizational and management solutions.
