Summary:
Introduction. Nuclear medicine plays a vital role in the detection and treatment of a variety of oncological diseases. The use of radioactive substances that selectively interact with cancer cells enables non-invasive diagnosis and treatment without the need for surgical procedures. 18F and 99mTc are widely used in radionuclide diagnostics. In disease therapy, 131I is used to treat thyroid pathologies, 177Lu to treat neuroendocrine tumors and prostate cancer, and 90Y to combat liver malignancies. Gallium-68 (68Ga) has recently gained recognition as a promising diagnostic tool. Currently, 68Ga-based drugs such as gallium (68Ga) Dotanok, gallium (67Ga) citrate, and gallium (68Ga) chloride are known. However, the range of 68Ga-based radiopharmaceuticals is limited. The aim of this study is to develop a radiopharmaceutical for the diagnosis and treatment of infected prostate adenoma. Materials and Methods. The study utilized analytical methods including qualitative chemical analysis, NMR, IR, UV spectrometry, titrimetric analysis, potentiometry, and gamma spectrometry. Results. A ligand based on 5-nitro-8-quinolinol and ethylenediamine, which has chelating properties for the gallium-68 cation, was synthesized. An injection solution technology and methods for assessing the quality of the dosage form were developed. Conclusion. A ligand composition for a 68Ga-based radiopharmaceutical for the diagnosis and treatment of infected prostate adenoma is proposed. A production process flowsheet was developed and tested, and analytical testing, qualitative and quantitative analysis were conducted.
