An important problem of neurology is the treatment of patients with impaired cerebral circulation, this is due to the high level of morbidity, and primarily such a formidable disease as ischemic stroke. Among the main causes of ischemic stroke - extracranial atherosclerotic lesions of the brachycephalic arteries (BCA) reach 70%, and intracranial atherosclerosis - 8-9% of cases. It is proved that the use of surgical methods of treatment of atherosclerosis of BCA significantly reduces the risk of cancer and improves the prognosis in these patients. Endovascular treatment of atherosclerotic lesions of BCA – stenting is becoming increasingly widespread. Stenting of the arteries of the aortic arch is an effective way of primary prevention of ischemic stroke. However, as with any other surgical intervention, during the operation or after it, complications may occur.
