Summary:
Abstract. Relevance. Colon polyps have a high oncogenic potential. Adenomatous polyps transform into colorectal cancer in 5-15% of cases. Colorectal cancer is the second most common malignancy in Perm Krai. Timely removal of polyps reduces cancer incidence. The quality of endoscopy services determines the effectiveness of prevention. A reduction in the number of physicians threatens the availability of diagnostics. Objective. This study evaluates the organization of medical care for patients with colon polyps in Perm Krai. The analysis focuses on the staffing of the endoscopy service. Materials and Methods. The study uses data from regional statistical reports for 2021–2025. The analysis covers the number of physicians and their qualifications. Retrospective statistical analysis methods are used. The calculation includes absolute and relative indicators. An assessment of the qualification structure complements the study. Results and Discussion. The number of doctors has decreased from 68 to 64 over five years. This is a 5.9% decline from the baseline. The share of certified specialists has fallen from 57.1% to 54.4%. In 2023, this figure reached a minimum of 48.6%. The workload per endoscopist is increasing. The decline in the qualified resource increases the risk of complications. The quality of colonoscopy protocols remains low at all levels. The city's proctology center has reduced rehabilitation times by 69.8%. The complication rate has decreased from 11.7% to 6.8%. Conclusion. The endoscopy service in the Perm Krai is experiencing a staffing shortage. The share of qualified specialists has not recovered to its original level. The region needs measures to retain staff. Incentives for certification should be a priority. The specialized outpatient center model has proven effective. Replicating this model could improve the situation. Personalized screening requires the implementation of digital technologies. Standardization of documentation standards will enhance continuity. Shifting detection to the preclinical stage remains a key objective.
