Relevance: Dental care is one of the sought-after areas of health care. The attention of many scientists is drawn to the treatment of defects of the dentition. Purpose of the study. To study the frequency of detection of dentition defects and the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment. Material and methods: By descriptive statistics, 17,856 cases of applying for orthopedic dental care were analyzed in connection with defects of dentition. Results of the study: 17856 patients turned to medical organizations of the first group, of which 81.97 ± 0.29% of dentition defects of varying length and localization. The results of the study showed that the prosthetic treatment contributed to the normalization of the main functions of the maxillofacial region of patients in both study groups. The effectiveness of chewing in most cases met the requirements of the protocols for the treatment of patients with partial and complete absence of teeth. Significantly improved the quality of life of patients and aesthetics of the face. However, the number of patients whose main treatment efficacy met the criteria we proposed was different in the studied group. Conclusion: on the main indicators, prosthetics of dentition defects with various designs showed a significant effect. However, the absence of orthodontic treatment before prosthetics did not allow for optimal functional occlusion in patients.
