Relevance: according to scientific research, all age categories of the population need dental care. Purpose of the study: to study the frequency of detection of dentition defects and the effectiveness of orthodontic treatment with an interdisciplinary approach. Material and methods: 1819 cases of applying for orthopedic dental care in connection with defects of dentition were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Results of the research: made prostheses taking into account the proposed morphometric studies contributed to a change in the configuration of the face. After prosthetic treatment, the facial signs corresponded to the age norm. At the same time, the main linear parameters of the face and dental arches correlated with each other in accordance with the proposed coefficients. Prosthetics of patients with defects of the dentition, taking into account the individual characteristics of the maxillofacial area and the obligatory conduct of morphometric studies, contributed to the improvement of facial signs, normalization of occlusal relationships and an increase in the effectiveness of treatment in general. The obtained results will allow recommending the revision of the staffing of multidisciplinary dental MOs that provide specialized medical care in outpatient settings, in particular, the introduction of the post of orthodontist in orthopedic departments.It was established that the prosthetic treatment contributed to the normalization of the main functions of the maxillofacial region of patients in both study groups. The treatment of patients in the studied groups showed the effectiveness of an interdisciplinary approach and the integrated treatment of patients with dentition defects complicated by deformities, which in itself is a quite obvious fact. Conclusion: Studies have shown that an interdisciplinary approach and a comprehensive study of patients contributed to improving the effectiveness of specialized care, which allows us to recommend the introduction of the post of orthodontist in orthopedic departments.
