THE PREDICTION OF THE RISKS OF COMPLICATIONS AFTER CHEMOTHERAPY IN CHRONIC LYMPHOCYTIC LEUKEMIA IN THE ELDERLY AND SENILE AGE

Summary:
In recent years, the increase in life expectancy, the increase in the number of older people in society, the improvement of methods of diagnosis of cancer, which led to an increase in the number of people of older age groups who are diagnosed with hemoblastosis. The article describes the relationship of geriatric status with somatic and the development of complications during chemotherapy in patients of older age groups with chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Purpose of research. To study the prognosis of the risks of complications after chemotherapy in chronic lymphocytic leukemia in the elderly and senile age.
Material and methods. A retrospective and prospective study was conducted to predict the risks of chemotherapy complications in elderly and senile patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia. The peculiarities of somatic and geriatric status were revealed in patients of different ages with and without chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Results and discussion. The incidence of complications after chemotherapy has increased significantly with age in the nervous system and in the psycho-emotional area, endocrine, hematopoietic system and organizational reactions. Elderly and senile patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia and senile asthenia syndrome were significantly more likely to have complications of chemotherapy such as drowsiness, anxiety, depression, frailty syndrome, memory impairment, encephalopathy, weight loss and swelling of the lower extremities.
Summary. The presence of the frailty syndrome significantly increases the incidence of such complications of chemotherapy in elderly and senile patients with chronic lymphocytic leukemia as the syndrome of hypoalbuminemia, hypokalemia, hyponatremia and hypomagnesemia in patients with frailty syndrome.
